Savannah Through the Lens

Cotton Remnants, 36x36

-

The City of Savannah is extremely rich in color, detail, and life compared to the sleepy town in Michigan where I was raised. Even so, I have strayed from using it as a subject as I wanted to save it for a project I felt would do it justice, rather than choosing it simply because of proximity. Through the use of varying textiles and stitch techniques, along with playing with line and shape relationships, I pieced together an illustrative wall hanging representative of the small moments that make up the jewel box beauty of Savannah.
