A Sunday Afternoon on the Sweater of La Grande Jatte
Reclaimed garments, embroidery floss

The pointillist work by Georges Seurat has been a prominent piece of pop culture for decades, but it wasn't until I sat down and watched Stephen Sondheim's "Sunday in the Park with George" that I really fell in love with “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte”. I wanted to pick up the work and take it with me, sharing its iconic characters wherever I went, so creating a sweater seemed a natural fit.
The garment was pieced from three separate crew necks before applying the hand-embroidered appliques of the figures.
This is my love letter to the classic painting and stunning musical, and I am fortunate I had the chance to finish the hat.
